A number of technical and technological problems related with the development of clinotrons for the frequency range from 400 GHz to 500 GHz are addressed. Experimental samples of such tubes have been developed. Characteristics of packed CW clinotrons with the output power levels from 20 to 100mW with 8% frequency bandwidth are presented in this paper.
