Additional components of Moffet-Hankins in the emission of a pulsar in the Crab nebula arise in the same range where the interpulse shift occurs (Moffett and Hankins, 1996; Hankins, Jones and Eilek, 2015). Since the latter can be explained by the reflection from the surface of returned positron radiation in an inclined magnetic field (Kontorovich, Trofimenko, 2017), it is natural to connect additional components, that are substantially shifted in the pulsar rotation phase, with diffraction on a periodic structure arising due to stimulated scattering by surface waves. It is significant that scattering can occur at resonance with a surface electromagnetic wave under conditions of Wood anomalies associated with the diffraction spectrum sliding along the surface. The continuous spectrum of the radiation incident on the surface may explain the large width of the components. Another possibility - diffraction by a periodic structure generated due to the action of constant fields (electric or magnetic) requires separate consideration. However, a strong quantized magnetic field, as well as free outflow of charges from the star's surface, leading to a zero electric field on the surface, should make it difficult to form surface structures in this case.
