V.A. Buts

The dynamics of some systems with a large number of oscillators are considered. It is shown that with an increase in the number of oscillators, the normal frequency of the systems decreases. When a certain critical number of oscillators is reached, the system becomes unstable. An analysis of the nonlinear dynamics of this instability shows that the ?extra? oscillators are ejected from the ensemble. A simple model of ideal plasma in an external magnetic field is considered. It is shown that, within the framework of this model, the plasma becomes unstable when the critical plasma density is reached. A possible mechanism for suppressing this instability is described. Keywords: linear oscillators, ensembles of oscillators, instability, dynamic chaos, suppression instability
